Biography

Dr. Matthew Liew Boon Wah is a cardiologist with the Asian Heart & Vascular Centre.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2003. He obtained his postgraduate qualifications in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP (United Kingdom)) and the National University of Singapore (Masters in Medicine, Internal Medicine) in 2008.

Dr. Liew obtained his specialist qualification as a cardiologist in 2012 and has completed his fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan in 2015. Dr. Liew was formerly the Chief, Department of Cardiology and the director of the acute myocardial infarction program at Changi General Hospital, Singapore.

He specialises in coronary artery interventional procedures and his expertise lies in evaluating chest pain syndromes and performing both diagnostic and interventional coronary artery procedures. He is experienced in managing cardiac emergencies such as acute coronary syndromes.

Dr. Liew's specialty interest is in interventional cardiology.
