Dr. Wong Poo Sing is a cardiothoracic surgeon from Wong Poo Sing Heart & Lung Surgery.
Dr. Wong Poo Sing graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial College London, and obtained his MBBS from the University of London in 1986. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (1990), the United Kingdom Intercollegiate Specialty in Cardiothoracic Surgery (1995), and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Cardiothoracic Surgery) (2002). He received specialist training in cardiothoracic surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital and the London Chest Hospital in the United Kingdom.
From 1995 to 2001, Dr. Wong contributed to the development of cardiothoracic surgery services in Penang and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. He subsequently relocated to Singapore in 2001, where he served as Associate Professor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore, as well as Senior Consultant and Clinical Director of the Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the National University Hospital, until 2006.
Dr. Wong entered private practice in 2007 at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and was involved in establishing cardiothoracic surgery services at Farrer Park Hospital in 2014. His current practice focuses on thoracic surgery, including the management of lung conditions such as cancer, infection, trauma, and chest wall disorders. He also provides consultation for selected cardiac surgery cases.
