Biography

Dr. Soo Ing Xiang is a Senior Consultant Thoracic Surgeon with O2 Lung Centre.

Prior to private practice, Dr. Soo was a founding member and surgical chief at Singhealth Duke-NUS Lung centre (Singapore General Hospital Outram campus). He also worked at the National Heart Centre Singapore, where he continues to contribute as Visiting Consultant and Asst. Professor.

Dr. Soo graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the National University of Singapore. Thereafter, he earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and furthered his training in all aspects of thoracic surgery in Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, UK.

His special interest in lung preservation surgery led him to be the most experienced surgeon in Singapore with Navigational Bronchoscopic lung resections. An expert in ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery), Dr. Soo had also performed Singapore’s and the region’s first Non-intubated VATS (Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery) lobectomy.

His specialty interests include surgical oncology (lung cancer, thymic cancer), VATS biopsy and lung preserving resection with navigation bronchoscopy, subxiphoid thymectomy, chest wall surgery, pneumothorax surgery, and uniportal VATS sympathectomy.
