Biography

Dr. Chan Siang Sui graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1986. He was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1991 and completed his Master in Medicine (Surgery) in 1991 and FAMS from Academy of Medicine (Singapore) in 1997. He later furthered his training in surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital (USA) as a Clinical Fellow in the Department of Surgery and at Lahey Clinic in Burlington Massachusetts (USA) before returning to Singapore.

Dr. Chan is a general surgeon sub-specialising in minimally-invasive surgery, oncologic surgery for esophageal, stomach, colon, rectum, pancreas, thyroid and breast cancers, and metabolic (obesity) surgery. Prior to private practice, he was a consultant with the Department of Surgery of Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Department of Surgical Oncology at National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS).

Outside of clinical work, Dr. Chan believes in contributing back to the community. He was involved in a medical relief mission to Sri Lanka following the aftermath of the tsunami in December 2004.

Dr. Chan's specialty interests are bariatric surgery, hernia surgery, minimally invasive surgery and thyroid cancer.
