Dr. Jerry Goo Tiong Thye is a Senior Consultant Breast and General Surgeon and Medical Director of Alliance Specialist Group (Breast and General Surgery) Clinic at Farrer Park Medical Centre.
Dr. Goo specialises in the areas of oncoplastic breast surgery including mammoplasty and minimally invasive laparoscopic (keyhole) mastectomy. His clinical expertise also covers a broad spectrum of general surgical procedures, including endoscopy, gallbladder surgery, hernia repair, and complex gastrointestinal conditions.
Dr. Goo graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Medical School and then went on to complete his general surgery training programme in Singapore. He pursued further training at the renowned Westmead Breast Cancer Institute and Westmead Trauma Centre in Australia.
As the former Head of the Department of General Surgery and Head of the Breast Service at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), he brings deep expertise and a strong dedication to patient care. For Dr Goo, surgery is more than just performing procedures - it's about making a real difference in the health and lives of his patients. He prioritises accurate diagnoses and personalised treatment plans designed to preserve both health and self-image.
He provides a full range of surgical interventions for both benign breast conditions and breast cancer, encompassing oncoplastic mammoplasty and intricate breast reconstruction procedures. His work was also featured on the National TV documentary programme about oncoplastic breast surgery with reconstruction in 2022.
Dr. Goo is a passionate educator and researcher with over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He is also a key figure in national surgical leadership, having contributed to the establishment of the Emergency Surgery and Trauma (ESAT) and Breast Service at KTPH.
