Dr. Caroline Ong Yu Ming is a dually-accreditated Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist. During her almost 2 decades of experience in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and other government restructured hospitals, Dr. Ong has demonstrated and believes in providing genuine, safe, empathetic, and patient-centred care.
Dr. Ong obtained her M.B.B.S in 2006 from the National University of Singapore, with multiple awards and medals for academic excellence throughout medical school. She obtained her Masters of Medicine in Anesthesiology in 2010, followed by Specialist Accreditation in Anesthesiology in 2012. Subsequently, Dr. Ong was awarded the Ministry of Health's Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship to complete Advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. She obtained Specialist Accreditation in Intensive Care in 2015.
Dr. Ong's passions span beyond the clinical realm into medical education and patient safety. She led the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Anaesthesiology Residency Programme as its Programme Director for 2 terms, and then served as Chairman of its Programme Evaluation Committee. Dr. Ong served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and Clinical Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.
She was also a member of the National Intensive Care Medicine Sub-specialty Training Committee (SSTC), and Faculty member for TTSH's Clinical Practice Improvement Programme (CPIP).
Dr. Ong's specialty interests are anesthesiology and intensive care medicine.
