Biography

Dr. David Su is an orthopaedic surgeon and foot and ankle specialist. He graduated and obtained post-graduate medical qualifications from NUS. He was also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).  

He received a scholarship to undergo subspecialty fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at The Park Clinic (Melbourne) where he had the privilege to treat a myriad of patients, including elite & Olympic athletes, with foot and ankle conditions ranging from trauma and sports injuries, to lower limb deformities and degenerative conditions.

He had pioneered surgical techniques for brace–free rehabilitation after ankle ligament reconstructive surgery in Singapore.  

Prior to co-founding The Orthopaedic Centre in 2013, he had served in the public service for 15 years and was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and the Director of the Foot and Ankle Service, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He has worked with foot and ankle surgeons in countries including Switzerland, Germany and USA, gaining a global perspective in treating patients and continues to serve as a visiting consultant at SGH.  

Apart from clinical work, Dr. Su is also active in teaching, holding an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, where he teaches postgraduate students at the Duke-NUS and tutors undergraduates of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has been invited to lecture at multiple local, regional and international orthopaedic conferences and has been a course lecturer in fractures and orthopaedic trauma for the AO Foundation.

He has also been actively teaching and mentoring doctors in orthopaedic advanced specialty training, and training international fellows in foot and ankle surgery. He served as Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association in the past.
