Dr. Victor Wang is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon who subspecialises in spine surgeries. He completed his undergraduate medical training and graduated from the National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2006. He was appointed a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in 2008. He obtained his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) from National University of Singapore in 2015 and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom (Orthopaedics) in 2016.
Dr. Wang’s expertise in the field of spine surgery extends beyond a pure clinical one - He was involved in the establishment of The NHG Spine Centre and was appointed as one of the inaugural members of Executive Committee (EXCO). A keen believer in the application of technology in evidence-based practice, Dr. Wang has vast experience in utilising Computer Navigation for major spine surgeries. Being a strong proponent of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) principles, he is passionate towards optimising post-surgical recovery/outcomes of his patients and is part of the committee of enhanced post-operative recovery for Woodlands Health.
Outside of clinical work, Dr. Wang has a keen interest in clinical research and education. He was the winner of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association P Balasubramaniam Young Orthopaedic Investigator’s Award 2009 and has also published in various international journals.
Dr. Wang was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship in 2019 and subsequently completed a one-year fellowship programme at Hokkaido Medical Centre, National Hospital Organization in Sapporo, Japan. He worked with internationally renowned spine surgeons and participated actively in spine surgeries including complex spinal deformity correction surgeries and revision spine surgeries.
Dr. Wang's specialty interest include degenerative spine conditions, spinal deformity, and minimally invasive spine surgery.
