Biography

Dr. John Chen Hsiang is a seasoned gastroenterologist and hepatologist with over 20 years of clinical experience in both public and private healthcare sectors across Singapore, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

He currently leads the Richmond Gastroenterology Centre, operating from Mount Elizabeth Orchard and Farrer Park Medical Centre, where he provides comprehensive care for patients with digestive and liver conditions.

Dr. Hsiang is committed to providing exceptional, personalized care to his patients. Fluent in Mandarin and Hokkien, he ensures effective communication, creating a comfortable and trusting environment for his patients. His dedication to empowering patients with knowledge helps them better understand and manage their health conditions. Dr. Hsiang has held significant roles in the SingHealth cluster, including over six years of service in the Gastroenterology Department at Sengkang General Hospital. 

With a focus on patient education, Dr. Hsiang regularly conducts seminars and participates in radio talk shows to raise awareness about digestive and liver health. His multilingual abilities enable him to explain complex medical conditions clearly, empowering patients to make informed decisions. He believes that every patient should leave the clinic with confidence and a clear understanding of their treatment plan.

Dr. Hsiang's specialty interests include managing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, H.pylori infection, fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, irritable bowel syndrome and has extensive experience in gastrointestinal cancer screening.
