Dr. Tabitha Mok is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with over 15 years of clinical experience. Trained in Australia, she developed a strong foundation in general psychiatry with special interests in perinatal and youth mental health. Her work is guided by warmth, patience, and a real-world understanding of the challenges individuals and families face in balancing personal and professional roles. Since returning to Singapore in 2020, Dr. Mok has continued to make significant contributions to the field of psychiatry, with a focus on adolescent mental health, family well-being, and holistic models of care.
Dr. Mok began her clinical career in Australia, where she trained and practiced before relocating to Singapore. At Changi General Hospital, she served in multiple leadership roles. As Director of the Adolescent Psychiatry Service, she provided clinical leadership and governance, supporting her team in managing both routine and complex adolescent cases.
She also led the Youth Outreach Program, a pioneering initiative to support students with mental health challenges in reintegrating into school settings. This program not only enabled students to continue their education but also strengthened schools’ capacity to understand and respond to youth mental health needs.
Additionally, Dr. Mok was the Associate Program Director of the National Psychiatry Residency Program, where she mentored junior doctors and played an active role in shaping future generations of psychiatrists.
Beyond adolescent psychiatry, she was part of a multidisciplinary gender dysphoria team, collaborating with endocrinologists, psychologists, and speech therapists to provide comprehensive, gender-affirming care. She has also worked extensively with National Service Full-time (NSF) servicemen, offering tailored psychiatric support to help them navigate the stresses and responsibilities of service.
Dr. Mok obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Western Australia.
She went on to complete specialist training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Upon returning to Singapore, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS). Her educational and training journey reflects a balance of rigorous academic preparation and clinical experience across diverse settings.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Mok was engaged in medical education.
She held teaching appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, and Clinical Teacher at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She also contributed towards the training of family physicians as a Core Physician Faculty Member with SingHealth Family Medicine Faculty.
Dr. Mok is an accredited facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) program, helping parents build secure attachments and resilience in family relationships. Her teaching and mentorship have been recognized with the SingHealth Senior Educator Award (2021), and her contributions to patient care and national resilience were honored with the COVID-19 Resilience Medal (2023).
Through her blend of clinical leadership, education, and advocacy, Dr. Mok continues to foster a culture of compassion, resilience, and understanding in the mental health community.
