Dr. Kevin Yik
Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Kevin Yik specialises in Orthopedic Trauma and Shoulder & Elbow surgery. These include complex fracture fixation, arthroscopy and joint replacement.
He has been in clinical practice since 2008 after graduating from the National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees. Since completing his orthopaedic specialist training, he worked in both the National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He also served as the Head of Division for Orthopaedic Trauma in both hospitals, leading collaborative efforts in clinical and educational aspects between them.
Dr. Yik completed his subspecialty training with fellowships in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, and Orthopaedic Trauma at the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital under Prof. Oh Joo Han, and Korea University Guro Hospital, under Prof Oh Jong Keon. During this period, he learnt advanced surgical techniques in complex fracture fixation, shoulder arthroscopy for rotator cuff repair and instability, and shoulder arthroplasty.
He is actively involved in teaching and training future doctors and surgeons, serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He also continues to work as a visiting consultant in both National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
Notably, he remains active in AO Trauma, serving multiple roles including Community Development Officer for the Singapore council, Regional Program Coordinator for Asia Pacific Upper Extremity trauma, and faculty member at numerous AO Trauma courses.
With numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences, Dr. Yik is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care to his patients and is dedicated to advancing the field of orthopaedic surgery through education and research.
Dr. Yik loves playing tennis, a sport which he has pursued competitively since his schooling years.
Dr. Yik's specialty interests include shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, orthopaedic trauma (fracture fixation), shoulder, elbow and knee joint replacement (arthroplasty), and sports surgery.
