Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic health reflects the interplay among metabolic risk factors, chronic kidney disease, and the cardiovascular system and has profound impacts on morbidity and mortality. There are multisystem consequences of poor cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic health, with the most significant clinical impact being the high associated incidence of cardiovascular disease events and cardiovascular mortality. Management of CKM syndrome requires a holistic approach that considers the interconnectedness of these systems and addresses multiple risk factors simultaneously, including lifestyle changes and medications.

In essence, CKM syndrome represents a paradigm shift towards recognizing the complex interplay of these conditions and the need for integrated approaches to prevention and management.
