Fezolinetant is the first non-hormonal therapy designed to specifically treat vasomotor symptoms (VMS) associated with menopause. It directly addresses the underlying pathophysiology of VMS by blocking NK3 receptor in the hypothalamus, reducing the overactivation of KNDy neurons responsible for hot flushes and night sweats. Fezolinetant offers an effective treatment approach for women who are not be suitable to be on hormonal therapy, thereby addressing an unmet need for many who are suffering from vasomotor symptoms.
