Professor (Adjunct) Melissa Teo is a General Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena, Gleneagles, Farrer Park and Mount Alvernia Hospitals.
She completed her General Surgical training in Singapore and two Fellowships in Surgical Oncology and Colorectal Surgery in Toronto, building her expertise in Complex Abdominal and Pelvic Surgery.
She was a Senior Consultant and Head, Division of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), where she wrote treatment guidelines for Gastrointestinal Tract cancers, Sarcomas and Melanomas.
She has authored 180 publications, 6 book chapters and received awards for Service Excellence and Outstanding Faculty. She remains a visiting Professor at DUKE-NUS Medical School.
In her own practice, Prof Teo provides patient-centric care, focused on surgical excellence, and improving patient outcomes.
Her specialities include Gastrointestinal (Stomach, Colorectal and Pancreatic), Pelvic and Peritoneal Cancers, Sarcomas and Melanomas.

Arms: Raise both arms and see if one arm drops down
Speech: Say a short phrase and check for slurred or strange speech
