Dr. Chee Kok Chiang has been a surgeon in private practice and was the first, together with his team, to carry out a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (minimally invasive gall bladder removal) at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in 1990 and Youngberg Adventist Hospital in 1991.
Dr. Chee is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He has worked at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Hospital, Prince Henry Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Singapore General Hospital.
Dr. Chee’s specialty interests are colorectal, breast, hernia and thyroid surgery, endoscopy, stapled hemorrhoidectomy and laparoscopic appendectomy.
You can use the FAST test to check for the most common symptoms of stroke in yourself or someone else:
Face: Smile and see if one side of the face droops
Arms: Raise both arms and see if one arm drops down
Speech: Say a short phrase and check for slurred or strange speech
Time: If the answer to any of these tests is yes, contact a healthcare provider immediately and write down the time when symptoms started
