What is Plastic Surgery?

Plastic surgery is a medical specialty that uses surgical techniques of a reconstructive nature to repair defects caused by disease or trauma, as well as to enhance certain areas of the face and body.

Reconstructive surgery is surgery performed to restore the appearance and function and is performed after severe trauma and injuries, as well as after management or treatment of breast and skin cancer.

Body contouring surgery is done to remove residual fat and excessive skin as well as tighten the deeper tissues in the body after pregnancy and weight loss. Liposuction is a common procedure to reshape and contour common problem areas like the midsection and thighs.
