Biography

​​Dr Richard Chew was a visiting Fellow at Department of Surgery Tokyo University Hospital and Japan Cancer Centre in 1981 and was practising at the National University Hospital Singapore before entering private practice in 1987.

Dr Chew obtained his MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1975 and his Master of Medicine (Surgery) in 1979. That same year, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow. He has been a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore since 1984.

Dr. Chew's specialty interests are breast cancer, gastric and intestinal cancers, GI endoscopy, hernia surgery, laparoscopic surgery especially allbladder diseases and thyroid surgery.
