Joint Denervation is a technique that is increasingly used to control pain caused by arthritis. Conditions that may benefit from this technique includes low back pain, hip and knee pain as well as gluteal pain. In this talk, we will be discussing the history of joint denervation, anatomy of the terminal nerves to the joints, indications for joint denervation and the different techniques that are currently employed to denervate joints.

Dr. Christoher Liu
Anesthesiologist

Dr. Christopher Liu is the medical director of Alleviate Pain Clinic. Initially trained as an anaesethesiologist, Dr. Liu underwent further training in Pain Medicine in Singapore (SGH) and Canada (Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Mt. Sinai Hospital, and Women College Hospital). 

He is a member of the American Interventional Headache Society and the American Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. Apart from this, he also serves as the Pain Section Editor of the British Journal of Anaesthesia Education and has over 35 publications in the field of Headache and Pain Medicine. 

His specialty interests are in Musculoskeletal, Headaches, Facial & Nerve Pain.
