Revised mask-wearing requirements at our Medical Centre and Hospital

Mohamed Zain

Housekeeping

Asked about what motivates him each day especially in this pandemic where we are hard at work fighting against an invisible enemy, Zain shares his fighting spirit and wits.

“It is okay. I have taken on extra hours and more shifts during this time. Whenever they need me,
I am here,” he says humbly.

Zain truly carries his role out lovingly. His day shifts starts as early as 7 a.m. and the latest he has clocked out from his shift is at 9 p.m. He takes it in his stride to cover his cleaning duties and following protocols to disinfect the wards, corridors and common areas.

When asked about how tough it is, he simply adds “Teamwork is very important. We all play a part. As much as my supervisors and colleagues team up with do their part to support me well, I must also do the same and even more – that’s how I can show my appreciation and thank them for their care and warm encouragement.”

Zain says Farrer Park Hospital is like a second home to him; even before its opening in 2016. He even likens his housekeeping function as his personal mission where he can give back every day by keeping the hospital safe for his colleagues, doctors, patients and visitors.
