Dr Chong Kian Tai

Urologist

Dr Chong Kian Tai is the first Urologist trained in Southeast Asia to receive the prestigious full-time clinical Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York, USA. He specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, testis cancer and penile cancer.

Dr Chong is proficient in using the daVinci robotic systems operating in complex Robotic Cancer Surgery. His professional expertise also covers the traditional open and advanced laparoscopic key-hole methods in urology and oncology surgery.

Prior to private practice, Dr Chong had been an educator, researcher and innovator. He was appointed as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at National University of Singapore (NUS), and the co-Director of Urologic Oncology, as well as Director of Research in the Department of Urology, at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). His research interests include bio-molecular cancer targets, precision medicine, nanoparticle therapy, bio-imaging in molecular diagnosis of tumor, and development of novel biomedical devices.

With a vision to advocate holistic care for urological cancer patients, Dr Chong took up a variety of positions in TTSH. He served as the Chairman of the Urology Cancer Multidisciplinary Tumor Board, Chairman of Urology Cancer Support Programme, Chairman of Urology-Advance Care Planning (Uro-ACP) team, and Chairman of TTSH Prostate Cancer Support Group.
