Dengue Fever Treatment

How is Dengue Fever treated?

Dengue fever is a contagious illness that attacks the immune system. It is caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted to humans via the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito.

There is no specific medicine to treat dengue infection. You may take pain relievers but will need to avoid medicines with aspirin as they could worsen bleeding. You should also rest, drink plenty of fluids, and see your doctor. All of these methods are aimed at controlling and alleviating your symptoms while helping your body heal naturally.

If you start to feel worse in the first 24 hours after your fever goes down, you should get to a hospital immediately to be checked for complications.

We are always happy to help.
